  1.  4:1  Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness
  2. to be tempted of the devil.
  3.  4:2  And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he
  4. was afterward an hungered.
  5.  4:3  And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the
  6. Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
  7.  4:4  But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not
  8. live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of
  9. the mouth of God.
  10.  4:5  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and
  11. setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
  12.  4:6  And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast
  13. thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels
  14. charge concerning thee: and in [their] hands they shall bear
  15. thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
  16.  4:7  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not
  17. tempt the Lord thy God.
  18.  4:8  Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high
  19. mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and
  20. the glory of them;
  21.  4:9  And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if
  22. thou wilt fall down and worship me.
  23.  4:10  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it
  24. is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only
  25. shalt thou serve.
  26.  4:11  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and
  27. ministered unto him.
  28.  4:12  Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison,
  29. he departed into Galilee;
  30.  4:13  And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum,
  31. which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and
  32. Nephthalim:
  33.  4:14  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias
  34. the prophet, saying,
  35.  4:15  The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, [by]
  36. the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
  37.  4:16  The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to
  38. them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is
  39. sprung up.
  40.  4:17  From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say,
  41. Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
  42.  4:18  And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two
  43. brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a
  44. net into the sea: for they were fishers.
  45.  4:19  And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you
  46. fishers of men.
  47.  4:20  And they straightway left [their] nets, and followed
  48. him.
  49.  4:21  And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren,
  50. James [the son] of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship
  51. with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called
  52. them.
  53.  4:22  And they immediately left the ship and their father, and
  54. followed him.
  55.  4:23  And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their
  56. synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and
  57. healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among
  58. the people.
  59.  4:24  And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought
  60. unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases
  61. and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and
  62. those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he
  63. healed them.
  64.  4:25  And there followed him great multitudes of people from
  65. Galilee, and [from] Decapolis, and [from] Jerusalem, and [from]
  66. Judaea, and [from] beyond Jordan.
